Hello, my name is Bob Farran and I am your SELPA Director and have been for the past 20+ years. I love the work I do and the families we work with. It is difficult work trying to meet the unique needs of our 13,000 pupils with disabilities in an area of reduced resources.       I don’t do this work alone. I am just one of the many professionals and parent volunteers committed to the process.
   The SELPA is responsible for the following items, working in collaboration with our school districts and charter schools:
       Program development and current trends
       Coordination of services and legislation
    Funding and grants
        Compliance and data collection
        Training and technical assistance
        Outreach and interagency collaboration
        Quality control, research and development
     Take a look at the information on this website. Learn a new skill every month to improve your communication skills. It is just a sample of what we do here at the SELPA. Also take a look at your district or charter’s website as well. You will want to get to know the team at the district level who provide you with the direct services for your child.
     We invite you to participate in the programs and services available to you via your district, charter or the SELPA. Together we can do our very best for our children and young adults with disabilities.
